About us

Walking on our country estate and exploring some of Suffolk’s finest countryside will be a pleasure that will stay with you long after you return home.

The Broxtead Estate is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.  A working farming estate just 5 miles from Woodbridge and covering  2,800 acres of which less than half are commercially farmed, the remainder consisting of traditional woods and hedgerows, commons and open heathland to be enjoyed by those looking to loose themselves in peaceful countryside.  The entire estate is covered in tracks and footpaths from which to spot rare birds, deer, insects and butterflies, and the sheep and ponies that graze the heaths as part of our conservation programme.

Purchased by the Paul family in 1914 as a sporting estate for entertaining German maltsters, and so subsequently not commercially farmed until the 1960’s, the estate has kept a traditional feel and boasts a long history.  (We have ghost stories and links with famous explorers!)

Experience the countryside and the real beauty of nature here at Broxtead.
